TRY, TRY, AGAIN

I always heard that “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!”  Well, Steve used that lovely adage on me this morning when I tried to make cinnamon rolls for the first time.  Homemade cinnamon rolls – something that I’ve always wanted to make, but never had the guts to try.  Then, a very special lady in our congregation gave me her “never fail recipe”, so I thought – ok, let’s go for it!

Well……I learned soooo much!  I learned how to roll them out, roll them up, and make delicious icing for the top.  They tasted good, but ….. as Steve said, I need to “try, try, again” before I let anyone else try them.  I dare say that he is going to enjoy the efforts.

This reminds me of the Christian life.  Since “we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), we’re not perfect.  But, we have the privilege of prayer, the present of grace, and the promise of forgiveness, when we ask.  Then, we have to just try, try, again to do better.  Thank you, Lord!  God Bless, Courtney
