Once again, we woke up to a cloudy sky this morning. We ate lunch with a cloudy sky, and it was still cloudy when it got dark tonight. It’s been, let’s say – THREE GRAY DAYS in a row!! Now, don’t get me wrong, gray is one of my favorite colors for sweaters, pajamas – a number of things, but too many gray days straight, and, well, it get’s a little depressing?
Why? I wonder. All days include 24 hours. We have the same number of hours to serve God and do good. Our opportunities are the same. In fact, we may even have more opportunities because the weather may hinder some from venturing out. What would life be like without any gray days? Would they be perfect? How would we know? It seems to me that it takes having several “gray days” to truly appreciate the warmth of the sun on your face when it comes back. If we knew nothing but sunshine, we might take that blessing for granted.
In the same way, those who have struggled and endured until the end of life here on earth, will be the ones who truly appreciate and enjoy the beauty of heaven. They won’t take it for granted because they know of the pain and suffering that was endured on earth. So as the song says, “Gray skies are gonna clear up – put on a happy face!” God Bless, Courtney
