Well, today was a RAINY MONDAY in southeast Missouri! It was also my first full day at my new job. I’ll be honest – it was hard to get up this morning when the alarm when off. I laid there listening to it rain, thinking, “Okay, Girl – this is it! You’ve got to get up!” It would have been a nice day to stay home, but. . .I’m so glad that I didn’t.
I’m glad that I got up because I was able to enjoy my “drive time” to the Bluff and back. I was able to have some quality “prayer time” in the car. I love that time! And, I got to hear the news and weather. I feel like I’m almost caught up with the times after being distracted all weekend. I’m also glad that I was able to spend time getting to know some of my new co-workers today. They’re awesome! I’m looking forward to working with them in the future. Plus, I was able to get more familiar with my future responsibilities. Figuring out what needs to be done is half of the job – doing it is the other part. If this position is like those I’ve had in the past, six months from now, I’ll find out something that I should have been doing since Day One. Oh well, isn’t that the way it goes!
If we didn’t have those “rainy Mondays, we might not appreciate “sunny Tuesdays!” I’m thankful for today, rain and all! God Bless, Courtney
