I’m not sure how long ago it started, but for as long as I can remember – every Sunday afternoon, sometime between 4:30 and 5:00 pm, I call and talk to my Mother. Most of the time, we have no “news” to share, but it wouldn’t be Sunday unless I called home. If something happens, and I don’t call, she’ll call me before the end of the night, wanting to know if something’s wrong, since I missed my call.
You know, the Lord expects us to “check in” each Sunday, too. He has set aside the first day of the week as a day of worship and praise. He has set aside this day as the day for the church to partake of the bread and the fruit of the vine as we remember His death until He come (I Cor. 11:26) This is the day of the week for our church family to get together and fellowship with each other. Sundays are special, and we should all look forward to them.
An old saying is, “A Sunday well spent, brings a week of content.” I believe that a lifetime of Sundays spent worshiping and serving the Lord, will mean life everlasting. God Bless, Courtney
