Today I was doing a lovely FOUR HOUR online training at work when I came across a line that made me think. Here it is: Improvement requires change, but not all change is an improvement. Isn’t that the truth? People today aren’t satisfied with doing things the “old way.” They want things “new and exciting!”
But is change an improvement? Has God or His Word changed? Isaiah 40:8 which is quoted by Peter in I Peter 1:24-25 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, but the Word of our God shall stand forever.” Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the Lord, I change not. . .” “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 The scriptures plainly teach that God has not changed. If His Word has not changed, then who are we, to think that we can change the way that we worship or change the plan of salvation?
Personally, I need to improve – I need to improve my study/meditation time, my prayer life, ways to serve others, to be a better wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and the list goes on and on. But may we improve ourselves by changing ourselves to be more Godly. May we never try to change God’s ways – they are already perfect! In Revelation 1:8, Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come!” God Bless, Courtney
