I saw a quote on Facebook this morning that really caught my attention. It said: If you only pray when you’re in trouble – you’re in trouble! Isn’t that great? I’m afraid too many people in today’s society don’t have time for God until they “need” Him, and then they try to use prayer as a “get out of jail free” card. It is so much more!
Prayer should be the key that unlocks the morning and locks up the night. Last night at church, we sang the song, “Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray?” That can be a haunting song because we should be taking advantage of the avenue of prayer all along. I sometimes wonder if God doesn’t allow us to be laid flat on our backs – just so we can look up!
If you’ve slacked off in your prayer life, I’d like to encourage you to “have a little talk through Jesus” and when you get in “real trouble”, He’ll know you so well that He’ll know just how to intercede on your behalf before our Father’s throne. God Bless, Courtney
