Has life surprised you lately? One of the things that has helped me numerous times is the thought: “We know not what the future holds, but we know Who holds the future.” I don’t know about you, but I think it’s probably a good thing that we don’t know what may happen in the future. We should be living our lives every day in such a way that it really doesn’t matter what happens in the future here on this earth. It’s like we have blinders on and can only see what is right in front of us. We may wonder why things happen as they do, but God is always with us and He can see everything around us. He knows that some things must happen first – before we are ready to move on. He can see the “whole picture.” He can also see us victorious at the end of our lives here on earth and is preparing heaven for us.
We are told in Romans 8:26-27 that the Spirit helps us when we don’t even know what to pray for – making intercessions for us by searching our hearts according to the will of God. And in verse 28, we are assured “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). May we stay true to His Word and put our faith in His promises, not worrying what the future may hold because we know WHO holds the future. God Bless, Courtney
