One of my favorite hymns is titled “Because He Lives,” written by William and Gloria Gaither. Every Sunday, we commemorate the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior by partaking of the communion. It is such a special time in our worship, and it’s all because He Lives!
The chorus of the song says, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know, Who holds the future, And life is worth the living just because He lives.” Jesus is the only one raised from the dead to die no more. Because He lives, we can be assured that we, too, will be raised.
One of my favorite spots when I visited the Holy Land years ago, was seeing the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. It was so powerful to see where Christ could have been buried. The fact that the tomb was found empty is the greatest case for it being “the one.” Yes, the empty tomb means that we can have “victory in Jesus!” Because He lives, God Bless, Courtney
