Our Daily Bread. . .

Are you a hoarder? I’ve seen those shows advertised on TV about folks who have a problem throwing things away. They tend to buy in bulk because I know “I may need that one day!” It’s what keeps Sam’s Club and Costco in business. It can be much cheaper to buy in bulk – IF you have a place to store everything.

You know, God didn’t promise us that He’d provide enough flour for a year. What He did promise is enough for our “daily bread.” In the Model Prayer, Jesus prayed, “Give us this day, our daily bread.” (Matthew 6:11) The problem most of us have is – we aren’t satisfied with just our daily bread. No – we want more. Some of the Israelites picked up more manna than they needed, and the next morning, it had bred worms and stank. (Exodus 16:20) Why did God only want them to pick up enough for one day? He wanted to remind them on a daily basis that He was there for them. He was providing them with their “daily bread.”

He is also there for us. Thank you, Dear Lord for our daily bread. God Bless, Courtney
