One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Micah 6:8. It says, He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” I used this verse as the memory verse in Writing Schedule 7, under the “Good” category. What does the word “good” mean? It can be defined as “morally righteous.” If something is good- it is acceptable, satisfying, and pleasing. Do you want to be acceptable, satisfying, and pleasing to God?
Then, what does the Lord require of you? First, He wants you to do justice – to be fair, honest and lawful. You should be a “man of your word.” Others can trust you to do what you say you’re going to do. Second, He expects you to love kindness. Did you notice that it doesn’t say “like” kindness – He wants you to LOVE kindness. How our world needs more kindness! Last, but definitely not least, He wants us to walk humbly – not proudly or boastfully. He wants us to walk submissively with our God!
How I pray that you’re willing to do what the Lord requires of you! God Bless, Courtney
