Today I decided to take the “back road” to work and got stopped by a train. As I sat there watching the cars go by, it made me think of ways that Christians are like trains.
First, trains can only go in one direction at a time. We, as Christians should be following the Lord. There’s only one way to heaven and that’s through Jesus Christ. Trains carry loads. That’s the whole purpose of a train. Our purpose is to “go ye unto all the world and teach all nations. .” (Mark 16:15). God didn’t promise His children that the way would be easy and the burdens light – He just promised us that it would be worth it!
Have you ever ridden a train? To get on board, you have to have a ticket. Have you been baptized and had your sins washed away through Christ? He paid for your ticket on the cross, but you’ve got to do your part. Sometimes you go through tunnels. You can’t see where you’re going, but you trust the engineer to get you through. Christians also go through “dark times” when we can’t see the future- we’re scared and afraid, but we have to trust our Savior to lead us through, and He always does!
Trains have a destination. They’re going somewhere. As Christians, we are traveling through this life on our way to heaven. That’s our final destination! Have you gotten onboard? God Bless! Courtney
Very ood
Thank you!
You writings are always so thought provoking. I love that they are simple enough for someone like me to understand.
Oh, Girl! They’d have to be simple for me to come up with it! Thanks so much for your support! Courtney
