Whew! I’d say that I’m Aiden tiaarrrddd tonight! I started out this morning removing grass (aka weeds) from my front flower bed. They had certainly taken over, and it hadn’t taken very long – it seems like I just did this! Isn’t it interesting how things can creep up and you’re not even aware of it – that is until it’s taken over. What started as one weed, multiplied over and over.
Sin is like that. What seems to be such a little thing, can grow and fester and take over our lives. I never met a smoker who hadn’t tried that first cigarette. I never met an alcoholic who had never tasted liquor or a drug addict who had never gotten high before. Sometimes – it just takes that one time to have lasting effects. We must “be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8)
