So Much Learning To Be Done

I don’t know about you, but to me – this is one of my favorite weeks on Facebook. It’s “Back to School Week!” There are pictures and pictures of smiling children with heavy backpacks full of all of those #2 pencils and tablets. They’ve got lunch boxes in their hands and they are ready to go! In order to get that special photo – they’ll even put their arms around their siblings for just a few seconds and smile! I’ll be honest, I’ve also seen several pictures of smiling parents – but, we won’t go there! lol

This is such a special time of year because it represents a time of new beginnings. New classrooms, new teachers, new classmates, new clothes, and new school supplies – how much better can it get? The teachers have many new names and faces to put together. The classrooms are all decorated with new posters, new maps, new bulletin boards, and books just waiting for little hands to open them up. There is so much learning to be done! My grandson, Aiden starts kindergarten tomorrow! Oh, how I’m looking forward to him telling Gammy and PaPaw all about his school!

As adults, we may think that our “schooling days” are over. But can we ever learn everything there is about God’s Word? The Hebrew writer says that the Word judges the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12) Paul told Timothy that it was profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction unto righteousness – thoroughly equipping us unto all good works (II Timothy 3:16-17). God’s Word can save our souls (James 1:21). It will also be what judges us on that last day (John 12:48) I don’t know about you, but I think that when it comes to the Bible – there is so much learning to be done! Do you need to go back to school? Hope you’re in Sunday School next Lord’s Day, studying His word! God Bless, Courtney
