Today on my drive home, I had a car come up behind me pretty fast. The lady driving it was in a hurry! When we got to the passing lane, she passed me, and I noticed that she was holding her cell phone up next to the steering wheel. Was she texting? Was she watching the news? Was she watching a movie or skyping with her children or grandchildren to find out how their first day at school was? I was just thankful that she was passing me, but as she sped past – on her back window was a sign “In God We Trust.” Evidently, she does! She was certainly “practicing what she preached!”
You know – we all love to sing the song, “Tis’ So Sweet to Trust in Jesus,” and we do need to believe His promises and trust in His Word. But – that doesn’t mean that we should be reckless and careless. I’ve always heard the saying, “Pray for a good harvest, but – keep on hoeing!” God will always do His part, but He expects us to do our part. May we not take God for granted. God Bless, Courtney
So many are in a big hurry to meet God–I’d rather not be breaking the law when I do!! HA
