A Good Deal

Do you like to clip coupons? I’ve been known to pay for a “Sunday paper” back when there was one, just in case there might be coupons that I needed. Of course – they never have coupons for generic or store brands. I probably pay more in the long run, even with a coupon! But – hey, I saved fifty cents! Then again, I’ve also driven from one end of town to the other to save three cents on a gallon of gas, which probably saved me a whole thirty-six cents total. I spent more than that on gas driving to the other side of town! I’m going broke – saving money! Do you know someone who’d buy a pair of good breeding mules, if they thought they’d get a good deal! If so. . .I’ve got oceanfront property in . . . Well, you know.

There are so many people who spend hours of time and thousands of dollars trying to make improvements in this life. And while there is certainly nothing wrong with trying to improve our physical health, that should not be our top priority. There is nothing wrong with trying to get more educated or find a better job, but we must not get so focused on trying to make a living here on earth, that we fail to make a life for the hereafter. Living the Christian life isn’t easy, but it will be worth it, and that, my friends, is a good deal! God Bless, Courtney
