We had the greatest honor today – we got to attend Aiden’s Kindergarten’s Grandparents Day! Oh, my – he was so excited, talking ninety to nothing. He showed us his desk and his “not play dough” modeling clay. I almost got in trouble when I “touched” the pencil / supply carousal. He said, “Gammy – never, never touch it or you’ll lose something and you don’t want to do that!” Lesson learned.

He escorted us to the cafeteria and showed us how he could carry his tray. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of pancakes, blueberries, and sausage links. He showed us how to open the milk carton. It was such a good meal – with Aiden finishing first! That boy can put away some pancakes! Then, he had to show us how you had to pick up and carry your spoon and fork in your hand, so they wouldn’t get thrown in the garbage. Oh – and the trays went in the window.
Then, he got to lead us to the playground, where he wanted to show us what all he could do – climb, swing, and slide. He had a ball. Me, I got sandals full of pea gravel! lol!

It meant so much to me to be able to be there for that sweet boy. I got up at 5:30 am, left at 6:30 am, arrived at Fairview School in West Plains at 8:10 am, left around 9:30 am, dropped Steve and Sara off in Doniphan, and then headed to Poplar Bluff to work until 5:30 pm. Would I do it again? You bet! I’d do it every day – just to see him smile. Thank you, Aiden – for a wonderful Grandparent’s Day!
Thanks for the write-up and the pictures of Aiden’s Grandparents Day–I know he was as proud of youall as you were of him!! God bless.
