Sometimes you get so much piled on you that you feel like you’re buried up to your neck! Today was one of those fun days at work where it seemed like the “faster I went – the behinder I got!” Have you ever had one of those? I was feeling a little overwhelmed. I had to sit there for a few minutes this morning and just try to figure out what I needed to do first! This reminds me of something I read the other day. It said, “If you’re in a dark place, don’t consider yourself buried – maybe, you were just PLANTED!”
I love that thought. When times get dark and tough, there are only two things that can happen. We can either cave in and get buried by it, or we can use that same experience to stretch and grow. I always heard, that which does not kill you – makes you stronger! Today, I took one task at a time, completed it, and moved to the next one. By the end of the day, I was mentally exhausted. I AM mentally exhausted, but I can go to sleep tonight knowing that I did what I could. It might not have been much, but I tried. It may have seemed a small thing when Mary broke the seal on the alabaster box and anointed Jesus’ head. This small act made some angry – they thought that it was a waste of the ointment, but Mary was complimented by our Lord in Mark 14:6. Jesus told His disciples to let Mary alone, don’t trouble her for she hath wrought a good work on me. “She hath done what she could.” (Mark 14:8) Are you doing the best that you can do?
Those little things add up. If you start feeling buried – regroup and tell yourself, “I’m not buried! I’ve been planted!” God Bless, Courtney
I sure needed this–too much going on–and on top of all that the garbage disposer quit–BUT I fixed it–watch , a “how to repair” on line—did what it said–now it works!! Thank You, Lord!
Good for you!
