Welcome Home

Steve and I just got home from a quick trip to Branson. We’ve been planning on seeing the production of “Samson” at the Sight and Sound Theater for over a year and a half, and we finally made it! It ends in less than a month, so it was a “now or never” kind of thing. Samson is an unlikely “hero” of the Bible because he did so many things that were wrong. That boy had a problem with women! Yet, he came back to God in the end, and God answered his prayer.

Isn’t the mercy and grace of God amazing? We, too, fail Him day by day, but He doesn’t give up on us. Jesus used the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15 to demonstrate how God, our Father, is watching and waiting for His lost children to come back home. The boy’s father didn’t know that his son would return that day – I imagine he had been watching for days, just hoping and praying that his son would “come to his senses” and come home. When he did see the son coming down the road, the father ran to meet him, with arms open wide. Yes, this is how our heavenly Father is watching for us. Homecomings are wonderful!

I believe our dogs were pretty happy for us to pull in the driveway tonight. There is truly “no place like home.” Ahhh. . .Welcome home! God Bless, Courtney
