Do you ever wonder why things happen as they do or why you find yourself where you are? I’ve been working at my current job for almost four months now. I thought that I was put here for many different reasons – to make a difference for our clients, to meet new friends, to grow professionally, to learn new things, the list goes on and on. . . but, last week, I was reminded that my thoughts are not always the only way of thinking about things.
One of my co-workers came in my office on Thursday, and said, “I just want to thank you for being here.” “Well. . .you’re welcome?” I replied, not really knowing where this was coming from. She went on to explain – “Whenever I walk by and see you in your office, I’m reminded of what kind of person you are, and it makes me watch my mouth! I’m controlling my bad language much more since you’ve been here.” That was definitely not what I was expecting. I laughed and told her, “Who knows that I’m not here for such a time as this?” (stealing the line from Mordecai, of course,)
This week for my Daily Bible Writing, I’m going to be writing the scriptures about “Secrets.” The memory verse is Deuteronomy 29:29, “The secret things belong unto the Lord, our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Yes, God has secrets that he hasn’t revealed to us. We may not understand why things happen the way they do, and that’s okay. We may not need to know the why – that’s where faith comes in. We can just know that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
We are where we’re supposed to be, and God can use us for His glory. Where are you? God Bless, Courtney
Very good–you know you’re doing something right when you affect others to “do as you do”. So proud of you–God bless.
Excellent point. The older I grow, the more I know this scripture is true!
