Productivity

In our office, as in millions of other businesses, many employees are expected to “make productivity.” This means that 70% of their time should be spent doing something for our clients which is billable. 70% of an 8 hour day is around 5.49 hours. Of course, our clients are why we’re there!

This got me to thinking, “What if the Lord kept up with our productivity as a Christian?” What percentage of the day are you: “Praying without ceasing?” (I Thessalonians 5:17); “Rejoicing in the Lord?” (Philippians 4:4); “. . .by love, serving one another?” (Galatians 5:13). Are you “studying to show thyself approved unto God?” (II Timothy 2:15) Are you following Paul’s example and “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus?” (Philippians 3:13-14) Are you growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?” (II Peter 3:18)

Do those with whom you come in contact with on a daily basis, know that you’re a Christian? Do you “walk the walk” and not just “talk the talk?” Will there be anyone else in heaven due to your example and willingness to share the “good news – the gospel?” You know, that’s the only thing you’ll be able to take with you to heaven – another soul. Are you wasting your precious time each day being “unproductive?” God Bless, Courtney
