Are You an Organ Donor?

This week I had the “joy” of getting my Class E – chauffeur’s license for work. It’s one of those – “If you drive one of the company cars, then. . .”, and that’s okay. I didn’t mind, but it’s been a long time since I’ve taken the written driver’s test, so needless to say, I was relieved when I passed! Anyway, one of the questions at the DMV office was, “Would you like to be an organ donor?” I immediately said, “Yes!” Once, I’m gone – I won’t need these parts. Anything that can be used to make someone else’s life a little easier – well, they are welcome to anything that I’ve have left that’s worth having! (You know – we’re promised a new body one day – I hope mine’s a size 6! LOL!)

“Would you like to be an organ donor?” I’ve thought about that question several times this week. In a way – we should ALL be volunteer organ donors. In Luke 10:27, Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord, thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.” Let’s start out with donating our hearts – our affections, our desires, and our motives. Then, we are to love God with all our souls – our lives, our talents, and our time. We are to love Him spiritually. We are to love God with all of our strength – our physical bodies should be used to further the Lord’s kingdom. And, we are to love the Lord with all of our minds – mentally. “Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8)

Are you giving your heart, soul, strength, and mind to the Lord? God Bless, Courtney
