This time a year ago, I was trying to figure out how to start a blog. My first blog was published November 25, 2018. It was something that I had always thought I’d enjoy writing, but I didn’t know if it would be anything anyone else would want to read. The idea to actually do it came from my desire to find a Scripture Writing Schedule that had a memory verse in it. All the writing schedules that I could find were for a month at a time, centered around a theme for each month. I really loved copying God’s Word every day, but I found that once I wrote it – I couldn’t remember it. How was I going to “hide Thy Word in my heart that I might not sin against Thee,” if I couldn’t remember it? Whenever I had to study for a test in school, I’d rewrite my class notes. That’s just the way that I learn best. So I started looking for a schedule where you would write the same verse for several days in a row – a memory verse. When I couldn’t find one, I decided to see if I could make one and the rest, you can say, is history. . .
This blog has been such a blessing to me. I’ve found friends from all over the world. As of a few minutes ago, I have had 19,001 hits and my “Write On My Heart Every Word” Facebook page has 592 followers. How cool is that? My posts have been shared hundreds times. I stand amazed! It’s been so nice getting to know many of you. Your kind words humble me and encourage me. Thank you.
I’ve been asked many times, “How do you come up with something to write about almost every day?” And, that’s a very good question – I’m not sure . . . but something usually hits me during the day and on the drive home, I meditate on it, pray on it, and develop the thought or I’ll wake up in the mornings, and I can’t get to my computer fast enough to start writing. You never know when “inspiration” will hit. Besides the Scripture Writing Schedules, I really enjoyed several series that I’ve written. “Momma Says” and “Games We Played Back When” are a couple of my favorites. I enjoyed doing the background research on “Sunday School Songs” and the posts on holidays. My grandson, Aiden is a “fountain” of blog material. (By the way, he currently wants to be a paleontologist preacher, so he can preach on dinosaurs! That boy!) This blog has enabled me to write a little poetry, share a few recipes, a lot of laughs, and mainly – God’s Word.
Thank you, Friends, for your love and support of “Write On My Heart Every Word.” May we share many more years together. To God be the Glory, God Bless, Courtney
