Last week I shared one of my early morning prayers, prayed before I even got out of bed – “Use me, Lord.” This morning, my prayer was “Help me, Lord.” While this is again just three little words, they mean so much.
They mean that I realize that I can’t do this thing called “life” alone. Every time someone comes in my office and says, “I’ve got a question,” I always answer, “And I’ve got an answer.” Of course, the answer is often – “I don’t know – I’ll find out.” But, hey – that’s an answer! Right? The truth is, I don’t have all the answers. But, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction unto righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (II Timothy 3:16-17) While my prayer is to “help me,” I must do my part and seek out His “help.” He gave us His word to guide us and give us hope, help me, Lord to take the time to study it.
Help me, Lord, to be a better listener – than talker. Help me to brighten someone’s day. Help me to give others the benefit of a doubt. Help me to remain positive. Help me, “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever.” (II Peter 3:18) God Bless, Courtney
