Left-overs

One of the reasons that Steve wants us to host Thanksgiving Dinner each year is the “left-overs!” We’ve still got turkey, dressing, English pea casserole, and rolls – he’s a happy man! While left-overs may be a good thing for a couple of days after Thanksgiving, it doesn’t take long to get tired of them. What are left-overs? They are whatever is “left over” – not consumed or used. It’s the remnant or the scraps.

For those of us who work outside the home, I’m afraid that we are often guilty of giving our “best” at work during the day, and just bringing home the “left-overs” to our families. What about for the Lord? Do you stay up or out late on Saturday night and drag yourself into worship services on Sunday mornings? Does prayer time come first, or is it an afterthought? Do you spend time in God’s Word? As the Bereans, do you “search the scriptures daily to see whether these things are so?”(Acts 17:11)

Are you giving God the “left-overs” of your time, your energy, and your money? God gave His best for you – His Son. Think about it. God Bless, Courtney
