If You Don’t Use It . . .

Yesterday at work, I got the email reminding me that I have so many sick days and vacation days saved up. I can only carry over 40 hours. If I don’t use them, I’ll lose them. This got me to thinking about how true this is for many things in life. If we don’t use it, we’ll lose it!

Anyone who has had surgery or broken a bone knows that it takes time and therapy to build strength and regain use. If we don’t use it, we lose it! The same goes with playing a sport or an instrument- hours are spent in practice, practice, practice! But what about in our spiritual lives? Are you using what you’ve been given? We are here so that as we go into all the world, we can teach the Gospel. Are you using your opportunities to talk with God each day? We are to pray without ceasing. Did you open God’s Word yesterday? We are to study to show ourselves approved unto God. We are to serve others. We are to let our lights shine in such a way that others will see Christ living in us. How bright is your light?

Friends, we have a few short years on this earth to prepare for eternity. We must use the talents and opportunities that we’ve been given. If we don’t use them, we’ll lose them! The only thing that we can carry over from this life to the next is another soul. How are you using your time? If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it! God Bless, Courtney
