Sometimes. . .

Yesterday, I was in Jeff City at a training when they showed the cutest poster of a dog with a leash in his mouth, supposedly saying, “Sometimes you just have to walk yourself!” I love it! There are many times when if you want something done, you need to get off the couch and “just do it.”

Nowadays, we tend to make excuses. Hey – It’s not our job to “walk ourselves. Someone is slacking off.” But we must come to the realization that the only one that we can control is ourselves. We can’t “make” others feel as passionate about something as we do. We can’t control their actions or how long it’s going to take to “get them moving.” What we can be is an encourager. A little “You can do it!” goes a long way in motivating someone to “step up.” We can also be an example of the possibilities that could occur, if one takes the initiative. Walking a dog doesn’t just benefit the dog – the person holding the other side of the leash is getting exercise; they are going outside and enjoying this beautiful world that God has created; they are “bonding” with their pet; and on and on and on.

May we be willing to do what needs to be done, even if it’s just us and God, for together – we make a majority! “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) God Bless, Courtney
