Yesterday, I wrote about “Sometimes, you just have to walk yourself!” We can’t let our salvation depend on someone else. We need to do what we need to do. But this morning, I got to thinking about the “Sermon on the Mount” where Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candle stick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” (Matthew 5:14-15) But what if you’re two doors down? Can that candle at the neighbors down the street, help you?
I believe that it takes all of us “shining” to make that city that is set on a hill to not be hid, and well – glow. We need to work together to make a difference. One person can change those around them, but think about what a large group of people can do! If we are all spreading the “good news” as we go about our every day lives – change will happen! There is such a difference between a crowd and a group. A crowd is a lot of people who are “just there,” while a group has a focus – a reason to be there. As the Lord’s church, we are to teach, be an example, pray without ceasing, and help those that are in need. There is a reason that God made the church – fellow Christians can “lighten” the loads in this life. They can pray with you and for you. Oh, how I love our church family!
Aren’t you glad that you’re not responsible for doing everything alone? Friends, we need to all “get our shine on!” To God be the Glory! God Bless, Courtney
