First Impressions

“He’s not very friendly – He just stared at me.” “She has no taste – did you see what she was wearing?” “Did you hear him? I’m not convinced that he’s sincere.” First impressions – we all make them. They are usually based on our own biased opinions. We tend to like those who are “like us,” and we don’t like those who are “different.” The problem is: most of the time, if we take the time and effort to get to know that person, we’ll find that our first impressions were wrong. Us – wrong? Yep, it’s true. We’re only human, and there are times when we jump to conclusions without knowing “the rest of the story.”

Aren’t you glad that God doesn’t make quick judgments like that? Instead He offers the gospel to all? “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) He loves the world! He loves tall folks and short folks. He loves small people and large people. He loves those from all socio-economic backgrounds. He loves all nationalities so much that He made a way so that everyone who believes and obeys can be saved. What a great God we serve! God Bless, Courtney
