Why?

We never know what a day will hold, do we? Our family is devastated tonight by the loss of my brother-in-law, Randy. Randy dedicated his life to kids – He was a football coach, a mentor, and a friend. He was a husband, a dad, and a “Pops!” We never dreamed this morning what we would be facing tonight.

So, often when things happen, we ask, “Why God? Why do things happen as they do? Is there any thing we could have done to change things?” but, alas, changing the course of someone else’s life is not ours to change. We cannot control the thoughts, actions, or reactions of others – we can just control ourselves. We can let difficulties and sorrow make us bitter or we can seek His Word for comfort and guidance. Tonight, through the tears, I smile at fond memories of times that we’ve shared through the years. Perhaps one day, we’ll understand. God Bless, Courtney
