My office at work happens to be by the time clock. Many folks have commented on how they’d hate to have that office because someone would be outside of your door all the time. Me – I LOVE IT! I know everyone’s name! I get the chance to say, “Good Morning, how are you today?” to almost everyone in the office every day. Most of the time, the reply is, “Fine, and how are you?” I often borrow from Dave Ramsey and say, “Better than I deserve,” or I sometimes just say, “Blessed!”
Today, I was thumbing through a catalog when I ran across a coffee mug that I might just have to order, it said, “Simply Blessed!” I love it! No matter what is going on in our lives right now – we’ve been blessed. We woke up this morning. We had clothes to wear and food to eat. We have electric lights and indoor flush toilets. We have big screen televisions and small, lightweight computers. Most of us have more than one car in the driveway. The sun is shining and the dormant flowers are pushing their way out of the ground. Oh, the beauty of spring! But – many people in the world have none of these things. They may feel blessed because they have one pair of shoes, and they don’t have to go barefoot. They have two outfits, so they can wash one while they wear one. They are grateful to be able to feed their children and pray for their health because there are no medical services available within many miles. And, yet – they feel happy and blessed.
I remember the old adage, “I once complained because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.” We can always find something to complain about, but have you counted your blessings lately? I feel “simply blessed” – how about you? God Bless, Courtney
YES–I am blessed beyond measure!! Thank You, Lord.
