Our society today has blurred the “accepted” line between whats right and what’s wrong. It drives me crazy to hear someone say, “Well, that may be wrong for you to do, but it doesn’t go against my conscience, therefore, it’s okay for me.” When I was growing up there were several always rights. Parents – always right. Teachers – always right (If you got in trouble at school, you better watch out when you got home.) Policemen – always helpful and right; Adults – you respected and always prefaced their names with “Mr.” or “Mrs.” Kids – you didn’t argue with adults, you asked everything with a “please,” and answered everyone with a “Yes, thank you,” or a “No, ewww rev thank you.”
God clearly lines out His “rules for daily living” in his Word, the Bible. It isn’t politically correct – it’s just correct! If we want to find out what God believes is right or wrong, we must search His word. Do you remember the saying, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it?” That is so wrong! It should be, “God said it. That settles it!” Whether I believe it or not doesn’t make something right or wrong. Our “thoughts on the matter,” well – don’t matter! I’m fond of saying, “Opinions are like noses – all God’s children have one, but God didn’t ask me for my opinion when He wrote His Word, and He didn’t ask you for yours.” We must seek to do “His will,” if heaven will be our eternal home.
My friends, it’s never wrong to do the right thing. God Bless, Courtney
