The Uninvited “Critter!”

“There it is! Did you hear that?” As I was lying in bed this morning, stretching, relaxing and enjoying not having to go to work, I heard it! Again! We seem to be blessed with an uninvited “critter” in our attic! I’m not sure if it’s a mouse or a squirrel – but it definitely has feet, so I don’t think it’s a bird. I could forget about going back to sleep! Steve and I thought that the situation was addressed, but evidently – NOT!

This got me to thinking about how often we go through life having a “good ‘ole time” and “Bam!”, our focus is brought back to the fact that God is above. We are not put on this earth to serve ourselves. We have a higher calling. This coronavirus pandemic has brought many people back to their knees. As a nation, America has been reminded that God is the one in control. I’ve always heard it said that “God sometimes puts us on our backs, so that we’ll look up!” Has He gotten your attention lately? Are you listening? Have you opened up His Word to make sure that you are obeying His Will?

Steve has used the illustration before of a man who was looking out of an upstairs’ window during prohibition. He saw a man below come out to his car, look to the right, look to the left, and even look behind him before reaching into his vehicle and pulling out a bottle of whiskey. He was so sure that no one was around to see him break the law, but he forgot to look up! How about you? Simply blessed, Courtney
