Are You Hungry?

I am quite excited this morning, I’ve got a nest full of baby birds on the light fixture on our deck! This is the nest that I wouldn’t let Steve tear down from the beginning because I can see it from my recliner (which for 8 hours a day, I call my office!). When “Momma Bird” flies in now, you can see all of these little mouths opening up – hungry and anticipating something good. Momma takes turns feeding them, but she makes sure that all of them have what they need.

This reminded me of I Peter 2:2, where Peter describes Christians “as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye May grow thereby.” In the Sermon on the amount, Jesus said, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) As those tiny birds, are you craving your “next meal” of God’s Word? Are you “hungry?” Are you taking advantage of this unexpected time at home with your family to read and discuss God’s Word? Are you sharing your faith with your children? This is definitely a time when you can put the Bible and prayer back in schools!

My Friends, May we keep that longing desire to read God’s Word, write on our hearts every Word, and share it. Just like that Momma Bird is taking care of her little ones, God had also provided and taken care of us, for we are simply blessed! Courtney

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed this gospel article! Thank you! My husband and I were so blessed to hear, view and worship God while streaming via OABS from three different congregations of the The Lord’s Church! We are so blessed to be Christians, His saints! Have a Happy Lord’s Day!

  2. Thanks–very good! God bless
