Naughty or Nice? Have a nice day! BE NICE! What does the word nice mean? We often tell children to “be nice,” but it’s actually a hard word to understand. You can’t see nice, touch or feel nice, but you can definitely tell when someone is “not nice.” Have you ever been accused of being “too nice or too good?” I have, and they didn’t mean it as a compliment. (I took it as one, but that’s not what they meant.) I think we all compare others or expect others to have the same morals, ethics, and values that we have – at least, until they prove differently.

But isn’t it “so sweet to trust in Jesus?” I love that song. “Just to take Him at His Word. Just to rest upon His promise, just to know, ‘Thus saith the Lord.”‘ We don’t have to wonder if God means what He says and says what He means. He does! “For the word of God is living and active.” (Hebrews 4:12a) “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. . .” (Psalm 19:7a) Yes, God’s Word doesn’t change. We can trust Him to keep His promises. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29) How about this one – “Submit yourselves unto God; Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) Isn’t that wonderful? It’s a promise! We know that “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)

The Lord literally “wrote the book” on how to be nice. All Christians should be an example to others as to what being nice means. I hope that you have had a very nice day! Simply blessed, Courtney
