Choices

This post was written over a year ago. I pray that it will bring you comfort.

Have you ever thought about how for every choice that you make – there are consequences? Sometimes, the consequences are good, and sometimes, we’re not impressed with the ending of the story. There are times when we “kick” ourselves over and over for the choices that we made, yet, if given the chance to “do it all over again,” most folks would repeat the same actions.

The wonderful part about being a Christian is that the Lord can take any circumstance that we put ourselves in and work it out for our good. He not only forgives us when we fail, He forgets it! In Isaiah 43:25, God said, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” As humans, we often pray the same prayer over and over asking God to please, forgive us because we have a hard time forgiving ourselves. I can just imagine Him thinking, “What is she talking about?” It’s already been forgiven and forgotten.

Yes, there are consequences to the choices that we make and how we deal with them defines who we are. Will we get angry that God “allowed” this to happen? or will we turn our hearts over to Him and rest in peace knowing that He’s got this? He can use our bad choices for good and draw us closer. I always heard, “If you feel far from God, guess who moved?” I’ll give you a hint – it’s not God! God Bless, Courtney
