Called

This morning I had the “joy” of calling clients to check on them. It’s so interesting how people take getting a phone call in the morning, especially on a Monday! I would say, “early in the morning,” but that’s a relative term for different folks. Some people consider 9:00 early, while to others if it’s before noon – it’s early! There were some that seemed excited that I called, while others had forgotten that today was the day.

This got me to thinking about how we’ll react when the Lord “calls” us home or let’s get personal “How about you?” Will you be up, ready, and waiting when you get the call? Will you be excited that the time has finally come? or will you be surprised that “today is the day?” For “the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night” (I Thessalonians 5:2). Jesus said, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” (Matthew 24:36). “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 24:44) “Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober” (I Thessalonians 5:6). Did you get that? The Lord will come in such an hour as ye think not – basically, just when you least expect it, the Lord will return and you will be called home.

How will the Lord find you when he calls? Simply blessed, Courtney
