Have you ever felt like the odds are stacked against you? You feel like you’ve been “put through the wringer?” (young folks might have to google that one! lol). Perhaps you’ve tried many times and yet, each time, just when you think things are finally going your way – another hurdle appears. It reminds me of the story of Job – Bless his heart – just when he thought that things couldn’t get any worse – they did! Of course, the Lord did bless him in the end.
But I once heard that if “God places a Goliath in front of you – He must believe that there is a David inside of you.” I love that thought for we know that David was just a young boy when he bravely faced the giant Goliath. David told the Philistine, “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied” (I Samuel 17:45). Yes, that young boy knew that “the battle is the Lord’s” (I Samuel 17:47).
What about your battles? Are you trying to tackle all the odds on your own? Perhaps that’s why you’re feeling oppressed – you are trying to carry the load and make all of the decisions on your own. My Friends, the battle belongs to the Lord. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Yes, we must let go and let God take over. Turn your cares over to God and go to sleep – He’ll be up all night anyway! Simply blessed, Courtney
