There are days when it seems like the odds are stacked against you. You go from one crisis to another – and then – hello – here you go again! But have you ever noticed – it’s the last key that you try that unlocks the door? What if you had given up? Giving up is the easy way out. Moving forward is only possible by prayer, practice and perseverance.
As Christians, we are to “pray without ceasing” (I Thessalonians 5:17) In other words, we should always be in the “frame of mind” that we can stop whatever we’re doing and talk to our heavenly Father. No matter how difficult a time we are having, He knows. No matter what it takes to move forward, He has promised to “never leave us nor forsake us” (Deuteronomy 31:30)
Of course, we should “pray for a good harvest, but we also need to keep on hoeing!” God will do His part, but we’ve got to do our part, and it might entail practice, practice, practice! That age old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” has a lot of truth in it. We rarely “master” anything the first time that we try it, but with practice, we can become a pro.
And, only by persevering can we open the doors of opportunities that are within our grasp. For like Paul, we can “do all things through Christ which strengthens” us (Philippians 4:13). Hang in there, my Friends, We are simply blessed, Courtney
AMEN
