Who Am I?

I have had a “nightmare” of a week. My identity was stolen this week. All of a sudden, I couldn’t get into my email account, my Facebook account, and even our Amazon account. It appears that whoever hacked into my life was quite good. They had requested refunds due to “item not received” on everything that we had ordered through Amazon in the past few months, requesting that the refund be put on a “gift card” and not put back in my bank account. Smart, huh? But, isn’t it sad? I’ve come to the realization of just how “dear” I am! Proverbs 22:1 says, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold.” Knowing that my name has been compromised has definitely made me think about this verse.

The greatest name that we can wear here on this earth is the name Christian. If you had to prove that you “qualify” to wear that name, could you? If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? What is a Christian? The word itself can be defined as a “follower of Christ; Christ-like.” Do you follow Christ? Where did He go and what did He do when He was on this earth? Jesus spent the three years of His ministry teaching others. Who have you taught? Jesus had compassion on those who were suffering. Do you help others who are in need? Jesus spent many hours in prayer, talking with His heavenly Father. How is your prayer life? Even at the young age of 12, Jesus knew that He “must be about My Father’s business” (Luke 2:49). What do you spend most of your time and energy doing?

Who knows how long it will take to get everything back to normal in my life? Please, bear with me. May we remember who we are and Whose we are! Simply blessed, Courtney

  1. Courtney, I hope and pray you are able to quickly repair the damage done by this incident of identity theft. It’s really sad that we live in a society where far too many people have no scruples or concern for the well-being of others. We are in an “I, me, my, and mine” society. Satan is the ruler of this world and everything going on around us proves it beyond any legit. shadow of a doubt.

  2. So sorry–what a mess!! I don’t know what I would do!! God bless as you get all this mess fixed!
