This has been one of the best “Mother’s Day Weekends” that I’ve ever had. Not only did I get to spend it with my mother, but both of my girls were also able to come home. Due to the pandemic, Susan hasn’t been able to come to Doniphan since last August. And, I was thrilled to have David, Dianne, and Aiden come spend the night with us on Friday. What did I get for Mother’s Day? The best gift was their presence!
Through the years, I’ve often heard that the best present is presence, and I so agree! I was in the kitchen getting lunch ready yesterday, and my heart was overflowing, hearing Steve and Aiden talking on the porch, David and Mother carrying on one conversation, and Dianne and Susan sitting on the couch – talking and laughing. It was just wonderful!
I don’t take the blessing of having four generations together in my home for granted. “Thank you, Lord!” Oh, how I am “simply blessed.” Courtney
