Do you consider yourself a winner? Well, let’s face it – We all want to be winners – no one likes to be a loser. Winners get praised. Winners are motivated to keep on keeping on. Winners are different from losers, right? Actually, winners don’t really do different things – they just do things differently.
Losers tend to wander as they wonder what needs to be done. They have no goals and no plans to get to wherever they’re going. Losers are often impetuous. They go from one thing to another without giving much thought to consequences of their actions. Winners, on the other hand, see what needs to be done and just start doing something about it. Someone came in my office today and I was just sitting there – supposedly staring off into space, but I asked if they could see the “hamster running around the wheel” in my head? I was actually weighing pros and cons in my head and deciding on which action I wanted to take. Sometimes, the most active thing that you can do is – sit still and think.
But isn’t it wonderful that we don’t have to wonder as we wander through this life. God has given us His Word from which we can learn of His love for us. He has given us the plan of salvation and told us how He wants to be worshipped. By studying and “rightly dividing the Word of truth” (II Timothy 2:15), we know our purpose (be an example of the believers (I Timothy 4:12), to proclaim the gospel as we go out into all the world (Matthew 28:19), and be faithful until death (Revelation 2:10), so that one day heaven will be our eternal home.
We shouldn’t be surprised when doing the same thing the same way brings about the same results. Do you need to “do things differently?” Simply blessed, Courtney
I am now motivated to make better plans and be a more “winner like”!
