I don’t know about you, but the older I get – the stiffer I get! My back, my knees, my neck . . . maybe it’s safe to say that “if it doesn’t hurt from time to time – it doesn’t work!” lol But, honestly, I can tell that I’m not as limber as I used to be. After riding in the car for a couple of hours, I have to “walk it out” for a few minutes before I feel normal again. Are you flexible?
I’ve heard it said, “Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be easily bent out of shape.” Would others consider you “stiff” when it comes to the way you handle the the “difficult events” of life? Are you easily bent out of shape? I know some people who get mad at the drop of a hat. They seem to “enjoy” getting riled up. Those that know them, make excuses, “Oh, you know how ___so & so___ is!” But, that’s not a valid reason – it’s not even a good excuse to make a scene! We, alone can control our actions and our reactions. And it is our responsibility to do so.
How many of you sit on the same pew every Sunday? Do you order the same thing every time you eat at a favorite restaurant? Why do we do the same things over and over? It’s because it feels “right.” We’re comfortable with the familiar, and we don’t like change, but just because something is different – doesn’t mean that it’s bad. We must delve into God’s Word to “prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be easily bent out of shape. Simply blessed, Courtney
