I never ceased to be amazed at God’s timing. The last couple of days, I’ve been sicker than I’ve been in several years. There’s nothing like a bad head cold to “do you in.” I’ve alternated between blowing my nose and coughing. I look like Rudolph! and I’m actually home and COULD be putting Christmas up, but I’m too sick to work on it. Now – you know how sick I am! lol I am such a Christmas nut – I can’t wait to get the house decorated! But, anyway, back to the “feeling sick” issue. Friends, I firmly believe that God puts us on our backs, so that we will have to look up!
I needed to look up to remember that God is the One taking care of me. Things have been going well with my Park Lane Jewelry business – but, God reminded me that it is He that sends forth “showers of blessings” (Ezekiel 34:26). If I keep “hoeing,” He will provide the increase. I was thrilled to have my girls, their fellows, and Aiden here over the weekend. Our physical families mean so much to us, but during the last couple of days – it was to my “heavenly Father” that I turned to request strength, healing, and peace. Another lesson I’ve learned this week is that “time” is a relative thing. How often do I impose deadlines on myself? I think, “Well, I’ve got to have this done by. . .” Why? I’m planning on having an “Open House” for my jewelry business in a couple of weeks. What if I’m not ready by then? Would there be anything wrong with waiting three weeks or even four? When we’re laying on our backs and looking up, self-imposed deadlines are useless. And guess what? Laundry baskets are made to hold “dirty clothes” and kitchen sinks can hold “dirty dishes!” If something doesn’t get “done” like normal, “So what?” You can only “do” what you can do!
In Exodus 16:4, we read, “Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.” He literally fed His children from heaven – but they only got the amount that they could handle for that day. In the same way, God doesn’t put more on us than we can handle. I may be temporarily down, but “I’m not out!” Simply blessed, Courtney
