Have you ever taken a “leap of faith?” The dictionary defines the phrase as “an act of believing in or attempting something whose existence or outcome cannot be proved.” In other words – it’s jumping into something with both feet, praying that a smooth landing is in your future. In the past few months, it seems like I’ve taken more “leaps of faith” than ever before. I’ve started my own business – I LOVE selling Park Lane Jewelry – who knew? I’ve retired from working outside of the home. Things have been tight, but Steve and I have never been happier. It’s so nice to be a “preacher’s wife” once again. Then, a few days ago, I signed up to participate in the network marketing Go Pro Accelerator course, which starts with a 90 Day Run – three months of 10+ hour days, focusing on building my business. I have literally moved to the basement (fondly now called the “South Pole”), where I’ve set up an office and am dedicated to giving it my all. Now, some of you might be thinking (I’m sure you wouldn’t say it out loud – lol), isn’t she a little old to be starting over? It’s true, next week, I turn 60. I remember when I started back to college at age 47, being told – “You’ll be 50 years old before you graduate!” I then replied, “Well, Lord willing, I’ll be 50 years old anyways – I might as well be a 50 year old with a bachelor’s degree!” And so I was. Now, here I go again.
Why am I taking this “leap of faith?” It’s because of my “power word/phrase” for this year – “NO REGRETS.” I don’t want to look back this time next year and say, “If only. . .” “I wish I had done. . .” Do you know what I mean? If I don’t do what I can when I can – there is no one to blame, but me! Is there something that you need to do? Want to do? Can’t get it out of you mind? Les Brown is credited for saying, “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” I love that thought. The Lord has promised us that He “will never leave us nor forsake us” (Deuteronomy 31:6) Oh, how we are simply blessed, Courtney
