Look UP!

Have you ever met someone who seems to have been born “on the wrong side of the bed?” There is always something wrong! They are never GREAT! They may be okay. They may be so-so, or they may even be good, but it isn’t long before it’s “UGH!” time again. I realize that life happens. Things may not work out the way that we want. We may be disappointed, heartbroken, or feel defeated at times, but it’s at those moments when we are DOWN to nothing, that we can trust that God is UP to something! I believe that God can put us on our backs when we need help learning to look up!

One of the interesting things is – if you asked one of these “Negative Nellies,” if they consider themselves to be “the glass is half empty” kind of people, they’d deny it. They’re not negative – they’re just realists. Isn’t that sad? Because in “reality,” God is good all the time. All the time, God is good. As Abraham Lincoln said, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Will you choose to wake up, smile at yourself in the mirror, and decide to have a great day? May we as Paul say, “rejoice in the Lord, always, and again, I say rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4) He wrote these words while he was imprisoned – chained to Roman guards, but his joy came from within. Yours can, too! Will you be optimistic or will you have “misty optics?” Think about it.

So, if you’re down today, watch out! Who knows what amazing things God may have in store for your future? Look up! God Bless, Courtney
