As many of you did this morning – we woke up to ICE! Not snow – the white fluffy beautiful crunchy stuff – no, it’s ice on top of ice, and the high today is only supposed to get to 30 degrees. All plans of going anywhere today – including to the mailbox, probably aren’t going to happen. So, I have a full day ahead of me! What to do? What to do? But, guess what? I have a full day every day! And, so do you? What do you do with your time?
Every day is a gift from God. I mean – it is called the “present,” right? Will you spend more time on Facebook or will you open the “Good Book?” Will you call a friend “just to chat,” or will you also take the time to have a good long “just a little talk through Jesus” with our heavenly Father? Will you pray for our country, the church, and thank God for all of the many blessings He has given you for we know that Paul described Him as, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20). That’s one of my favorite verses. God doesn’t just bless us. He doesn’t even bless us abundantly. No – He is able to do “exceedingly abundantly” more than we can even imagine! Will you take the time to use the Scripture Writing Schedule and copy God’s Word, “writing on your heart every Word?” Will you check on others, letting them know that you care?
Instead of thinking of all of the things I can’t do today – I’m now excited about all of the possibilities and opportunities that this cold, icy day has brought! Oh, how we are simply blessed, Courtney
