Today is a day to honor fathers! It takes a special person to be a “Dad.” Both of my girls were able to travel home this weekend to spend a little time with us. It was the first time that Susan has been able to come to Missouri since Christmas. Steve has been a wonderful father, and I am honored to be his wife. Fathers are important in the lives of their children. They serve as teachers, caregivers, protectors, and role models. Children are greatly influenced by their fathers. Oh, how we need Christian fathers.

In the same way, God is our heavenly Father. He has tried to teach us the way that we should go through His Word. He sent His Son to earth to be the perfect role model for us and to die on the cross to make a way for us to go to heaven. He has given us our church families to pray with us, warn us, and encourage us. He forgives us when we ask, and He is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy” (Psalm 103:8). “The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works. The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth” (Psalm 145:17-18).
God, our heavenly Father loved us so much that He gave us earthly Fathers to lead us home. Thank you, God for Christian Fathers. In Jesus name, Amen. We are all, simply blessed, Courtney
