Star Light, Star Bright

Did you go out and see the “Christmas Star” tonight? It has been 800 years since Jupiter and Saturn have lined up in such a way. I wonder what the people in the 13th century thought when they looked up in the sky and saw such a sight. Personally, I found it very comforting to think that even in a year as crazy as 2020, God is still in the heavens. He is watching over us, as He promised (Deuteronomy 31:6).

It reminds me of a “game” that Aiden and I have played for years. I always told him that “Gammy loves you to the moon and back!” It wasn’t long until he started answering me, “Well, I love you to the sun and back – cause that’s further!” So one day, I thought I’d trick him – I started out with “I love you to the sun and back!” He looked at me and you could literally see “the wheels turning” as he thought of how to answer me. Finally, he said, “Well, I love you to God and back – and He’s EVERYWHERE!” I was speechless. He got me then, and I was reminded of it again tonight when I saw the “Christmas star.”

Friends, I don’t know about you, but 2020 has been such a challenging year for me. Thank you, Lord, for reminding all of us that You’re in control. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39) “I love you to God and back!” Simply blessed, Courtney
