Momma Said. . . (Part 5)

One of the most often quoted sayings of Momma is “Make sure your wear clean underwear, in case you get in an accident!” Now, I don’t know about you, but this is important! You never know when the “unexpected” will happen, and you wouldn’t want your “unmentionables”, well, to be something that others would mention!

There’s something about wearing clean, freshly laundered clothes with no holes. Revelation 7:14 says, “. . . and he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” How can being washed in blood make your garments white?

Steve had a great lesson last Sunday on the blood of Christ. So often, we glorify the cross – wearing it around our necks as jewelry, making replicas, etc. . . and while the cross is special, it took the blood of Christ to wash away our sins. The blood is what redeems us (Hebrews 9:12), justifies us (Romans 5:9), and brings us close to Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:13). One of my favorite verses is I John 1:7, “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son, cleanseth us from all unrighteousness.” Yes, the BLOOD cleans us! It makes our robes white. And as long as “I” walk in the light, we have fellowship – ME AND GOD one with another. How awesome is that!

Yes, Momma was right again. We want to always be wearing “clean clothing,” washed white – in the blood of the Lamb. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? God Bless, Courtney
