Teaching That Old Dog. . .

Sometimes, what you hear isn’t what is said. Case in point – Yesterday, I stated the fact that I hate “owing” people. The other person turned and said, “What?” He thought that I said, “I hate OLD people!” To which I replied, “I have to love old people – I AM “old people” and I love Steve!” lol We got a good laugh out of it, but in a way – it’s not a joke! I am “old people!” and that’s okay with me. It may be too late for me to do a lot of things, like call myself “young,” but it’s never too late for a new beginning in your life. The old saying that “You can’t teach an old dog a new trick” is false. Now, it might not be easy to teach that old dog something new, but with the right incentive – it’s possible.

So, what changes to you want to make in your life? Do you want to go back to school? Do you want to quit smoking or lose weight? Do you want to get a new job? Do you want to become a better Bible student? What is the first step that you need to take in order to start that new beginning? Do you feel overwhelmed at just the thought of trying “one more time?” Friends, don’t sell yourself short – you can do it. In fact, you are the only one who can! But, don’t think that you have to do it all alone. God has promised that “He will never leave us or forsake us” (Deuteronomy 31:6) Pray! Tap into that power! Second, don’t forget to ask your friends and family for help. They love you and want what’s best for you! How will they know what to pray for, if you don’t share what’s going on in your life?

It’s not too late for a new beginning in your life – go for it! Simply blessed, Courtney
